“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” – Psalm 46:1
Words cannot fully express our sorrow.
By now many of you have heard that the precious little girl, Allie Hall (the daughter of Dustin and Emily Hall), died earlier today at Kosair Children’s hospital. Her short life on this earth has been a daily struggle. After being born premature in September 2011, she spent her life in the hospital, lovingly being cared for by her parents and the doctors and nurses.
In moments like these we struggle to catch our breath as the heaviness and pain seems so overwhelming. Yet even with heavy hearts we know that God has been good to us over these last few months, and we are so thankful that we were able to have Allie in our lives. In that thankfulness we acknowledge that our only hope, and the hope that Allie was called home in, is the love, mercy, and grace that are found in the presence of Jesus Christ alone.
We believe that Allie is fully enjoying his presence at this very moment, unhindered by the confines of illnesses, frailty, and hospitals. Such confidence does not stop the pain or tears, but it does give us an unshakeable anchor and foundation by which we confess always that God is still good and he is still in control, even when the darkness descends and our hears are broken.
These next few days will be hard. Please continue to pray for Emily and Dustin and the rest of their family and friends.
Toby, Cade, and Michael
