Did We Win?

Jun 30th, 2009 | By | Category: Featured

Yes we did!!! The FBC softball team had its first victory this year.  I’m hoping its the first of many victories.  The victory came on the heels of a great church picnic.  Last Sunday was a very good Lord’s day all the way around.  We had a great worship service.  Todd making public his decision to trust Christ as Savior and Lord.  Then the great fellowship,  food, and Bro. Matt preaching at the park.  And it was all topped off with a softball victory.  I like saying that.  Softball Victory!!  Just rolls off the tongue so smoothly.

I hope all of you are having a great week so far.  Don’t forget we have a business meeting tomorrow because VBS is next week.  We have a few things to discuss that couldn’t be put off until next month.

Matt and I, mostly Matt, are working hard to try and get the sermons on the website.  We have had nothing but trouble trying to get it to work.  We finally have a sermon that recorded without all the static, but we can’t get it to load.  So Matt is going to talk to the Website guy, Jason, and see if he can’t get it to load.  I know that Jason will be able to do it.  He is a wiz with computers.

Are you involved with the life line screening for Thursday?  If you want to, please contact me or Stella.  We would like to use this as an opportunity to share the gospel with our community.  We need cookies, drinks, and volunteers.

And lastly I want to invite all of you to join us as we take a mission/camping trip to Jelly Stone Park in Cave City, Kentucky.  We plan to fellowship together with singing, teaching, praying, and playing games.  However, we also plan to reach people with the gospel of Jesus Christ through preaching, skits, backyard bible clubs.  Please come and be a part of what God is doing.  If you want information on this just ask one of the staff members.

God is really moving in our Church body and this is really exciting to me.  If you need anything let me know.

Your loving pastor,

Toby Jenkins

Jun 24th, 2009 | By | Category: Featured

I just wanted to say hey to everyone.  It’s been a busy week so far and I just wanted to let you all know that I’m thinking about you and praying for you.  I hope you are doing the same for me. Sonia and I are enjoying spending time together at the convention although we really miss our boys.  They are enjoying themselves in Mississippi spending time with family.

Wednesday night services have been canceled so that we as a church family can be with the  Richardsons .  Visitation is  at  Grayson Funeral Home from 3:00 until 8:00 pm.    Visitation will be from 9-11 on Thursday morning with services starting at 11:00 am. So please plan to be their for your brothers and sisters in Christ. That’s what being a Church is all about.  When one hurts we all hurt.

I absolutely love being your pastor and can’t wait to see what God does in our community.

Your Pastor,

Toby Jenkins

Boom! Boom! All Through the Night

Jun 11th, 2009 | By | Category: Featured

The weather was booming last night!!  Muddy water filled the fellowship hall and the gym.  Thanks to all of you who showed up to clean the muddy water out of the Church.

I couldn’t help but wonder what our Lord must think when He sees the church full of mud like that.  Then I thought that’s what the church looks like everyday He looks at it.  By church I do not mean the building.  Really, everyday God looks at His Bride and she is so filthy.  We woke up this morning to a church building full of mud, but God’s church is continually full of mud.  That’s why preachers are called to preach the Word in season and out of season, to wash His bride with the Word (Ephesians 5:26).  So as to present His bride adorned in white with out spot or blemish.  Washed in the Word, the precious blood of Christ.

I am thankful that God’s people joined in together today and cleaned the mud from the church.  But I am so much more thankful that His Son, Jesus Christ, gave His life to wash the real church, the Bride of Christ, white as snow.  What can wash away my sins?  NOTHING BUT THE BLOOD OF JESUS! What a Savior, what a Savior!!!  Thank you Jesus!!  The whole thing is just got me so excited.  Not just the imagery but seeing God’s church come together and getting things done.  Thank you guys so much.  I love all of you.

Can’t wait to see you all Sunday morning to worship our King.  Bring a friend and be praying for God to move in your heart and life.  And please pray that God would anoint me to preach with much boldness and clarity the glorious richness of the Gospel of Christ.

Because of the Lamb,

Pastor Toby

God is so good to us.  Like the dew that cover the ground in the morning; His mercy and grace is new every morning covering our lives.  To awaken every morning knowing that we are loved by the One who spoke the universe into existence is amazing.  To think, He loves us more than we love ourselves.  He cares more about our lives than we do.  Love so amazing so divine demands my life, my all.

I hope that all is going well for you this week.  I was studying for Sunday and was thinking about you all and thought I would write a quik post.  It was exciting to see that we had 6 or 7 quest with us Sunday.  Be praying that God will continue to move and work in our church to reach the nations with the gospel of Jesus Christ.  And also please be praying for me that words may be given to me when I open my mouth that I might boldly proclaim the mystery of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

THE VERDICT:  I have decided to be a Reds fan.  This was a hard decision to make on Friday because they lost, but I felt they were the team I wanted to support.  I really had a good time at the game.  Brad says we are gonna go back again before the season is up.  So I’m looking forward to going back.  However, next time I’m gonna try not to eat so many Chili dogs and peanuts.

Continue to check all the different area’s of the website because we are continually adding new things.  Check the calendar for important dates.  Also there is a new page for VBS.  Ms. Edna will be running that page and filling it with information for VBS.

Please call and let me know if you need me this week.  May the grace, mercy and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all is my prayer.

Your loving Pastor,

Toby

Preachers First Pro. Baseball Game

Jun 5th, 2009 | By | Category: Featured

I’m glad to report that Henry’s Surgery went good this morning.  So lift up a prayer of praise to our Great God.

I just finished up my sermons for Sunday and I’m sitting at my desk thinking about my plans for this evening.  It’s kind of exciting to think that I’m going to my very first Pro. Baseball game.  Brad is taking me, Ryan, and someone else to Cincinnati to watch a game between the Reds and the Cubs.  I don’t know which one I should root for.  Maybe yall could leave a comment at the bottom of this post and tell me who you like.  Regardless I’m excited about going.  My wife has been to see the Atlanta braves, and she thought it was fun.  I’ll let you know what I think and whether or not I’m a Reds fan or Cubs fan.

Anyway, I’m about to go home and eat lunch with the family.  You guys be good and I’ll see you all on Sunday.

P.S. -  Check out the new Calendar on the website.  Ms. Stella has got an announcement page up and running until we have the calendar page that the Website guy is uploading for us.

Also Matt and I are working on getting the sermons put on the website in audio.  This Sunday will be our first attempt at doing this, so be praying.

Pastor,

Toby

Hello Church,

I hope all is well with you and your families.  I hope to see all of you at church tonight.  I’m preaching Psalms 11.  The title is “What can the Christians do”.   We will look at David and how he answers this question the world posed to him in times of trouble.  Please come and ask God to speak to your heart.

This Sunday we will be looking at the gospel of John.  We wil be looking at 1:3-5.  Please be in prayer for me that God would preach to me what He would have me to preach to you all.  Pray for me to rightly divide the Word of truth.

Also this Sunday will be our first attempt at recording the messages and uploading them to the website.  So pray that all goes well as we attempt this.  Pray for Matt as he will be the engineer behind this endeavor.  But most importantly pray for him as he leads our young people in a relationship with the One True and Living God.

Please let me know of any needs that you have in your life.  Please continue to pray for God to move and work in our Church.  Also the prayer list is going to start over for the month of June.  So if you have a prayer request in May that you also want to continue in June just re-post it.  Every month I will start a new prayer list so as to make the process simpler.  If you want to see the prayer request from May 2009 just type “prayer request may 2009″ in the search box at the top right corner of the Home page.  If you have any questions or comments just type them in  the comment box at the bottom of this post and I will get it.

Your loving Pastor,

Toby
